Rosacea

Rosacea is a non-contagious chronic skin inflammation and has four recognised stages:

 

1) PRE ROSACEA

Erythrosis, the face flushes readily and frequently

Sensitivity

Unusual and sudden flare-ups when topical products are applied to the face (such as acne cream)

 

2) VASCULAR ROSACEA

Flushing

Erythema

Swelling

Telangiectasia

Eyes

 

3) INFLAMMATORY ROSACEA

Papules

Pustules

Plaques

 

4) ADVANCED ROSACEA

Rhinophyma

Dilated follicles

Swelling often present from the early stages

Frontophyma, zygofima, mentophyma and ocular inflammation
